Key information
Game creator Hideo Kojima has acknowledged a fan-made Windows port of the PlayStation 4 horror title P.T. Originally released in August 2014 as a playable teaser for Silent Hill, the demo was removed from the PlayStation store in 2015 following Kojima's fallout with Konami.
Modder LoreanXavier developed the PC version by reverse-engineering the PlayStation 4 executable using original assets, C++, and Vulcan. The port is a 1:1 version featuring the original house, content, scripts, loops, events, progression, ending puzzle, and voice-recognition section.
LoreanXavier stated that the project is about 97% complete and noted that rendering is implemented for PC while remaining graphical differences are addressed. Thirty minutes of gameplay can be viewed on YouTube, though fans have requested open-source code in case of copyright action.
The project gained widespread attention when Kojima retweeted an article discussing the port. LoreanXavier expressed speechlessness on Twitter/X that Kojima noticed the work. Meanwhile, Kojima's next horror game, OD, remains in development starring Hunter Schafer and Sophia Lillis.
