Key information
Rockstar Games has shared new details regarding Grand Theft Auto 6, highlighting the massive open-world environment and the protagonists Lucia and Jason. In an interview with Love Magazine, the developer discussed the extensive research behind building a realistic setting that reflects Florida's culture, people, and locations through detailed NPCs.
The game features uniquely complex non-player characters designed with individual lives, distinct conversations, clothing, and hairstyles. According to writing director James Horton, the title features no true background characters, as everyone possesses their own existence rather than acting as simple extras.
Unlike seasoned criminals, Jason and Lucia are inexperienced in bank heists and drug deals, requiring careful navigation to avoid disaster. Players significantly influence Jason's reputation and how he reacts to his crimes, which alters how other characters react to him.
Senior vice president of narrative Robert Humphries stated that the title examines the modern American dream, which has shifted toward modest goals like paying off loans and housing a family that might still be out of reach. Issue 27 of Love Magazine releases on Oct. 5, with covers featuring Jason and Lucia having already sold out.
