Key information

According to a report from GamesBeat citing four anonymous sources, Rockstar Games is planning to release GTA 6 on PC during the first quarter of 2027. Neither Rockstar nor its parent company, Take-Two Interactive, have provided official confirmation regarding this timeline.

If the report is accurate, the PC version would arrive shortly after the console launch on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S, which is scheduled for November 19, 2026. This potential window is notably shorter than the nearly two-year delay experienced by GTA 5.

Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick has previously stated that the company aims to serve its core console audience first. However, Zelnick has also noted that the industry is trending toward open platforms and that the company intends to reach consumers on any platform that makes sense over time.

While Rockstar has not confirmed technical specifications, expectations remain that a PC release would offer superior performance compared to consoles, provided the hardware is sufficient. Additionally, the PC launch may coincide with the debut of the game's multiplayer component, which Twitch CEO Dan Clancy suggested could arrive next year.
