Key information
A recently published and quickly removed PEGI rating for Grand Theft Auto VI revealed new details regarding gameplay mechanics in Rockstar Games' upcoming open-world title. Among the uncovered features is the ability for players to carry illegal drugs in their inventory and consume them directly from their hand at any time.
The PEGI listing described frequent drug use, noting that protagonists Jason or Lucia can snort cocaine from their hand outside of specific missions or locations. Additionally, the rating detailed strong graphic violence including decapitation and dismemberment, sexual content, interactive private dances, and in-game purchases.
Polygon suggested that Rockstar might integrate these choices with other systems, such as character relationships and lifestyles, though these deeper consequences remain unconfirmed possibilities rather than official features. The exact gameplay effects of drug consumption are still unknown.
Developed by Rockstar Games, Grand Theft Auto VI is scheduled for release on November 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Rockstar has not yet announced a PC version for the title.
