Key information
Rockstar Games has officially scheduled the launch of Grand Theft Auto 6 for November 19, 2026. The title is currently confirmed for release on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S consoles, leaving PC players waiting for a future version.
While no official PC release date exists, industry observers estimate a potential arrival in Q1 2028. This projection relies on historical release patterns rather than leaks, noting that previous titles like GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2 saw varying delays between console and PC availability.
Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick stated that Rockstar prioritizes console audiences first, dismissing claims that marketing agreements caused the PC delay. Zelnick noted that PC platforms now represent 45-50% of sales for major titles, suggesting the platform remains a significant business component.
Speculation regarding the timeline is further influenced by comments from Twitch CEO Dan Clancy, who suggested multiplayer features might arrive in 2027. Rockstar has not yet confirmed a PC version, though company leadership has acknowledged the platform's growing importance.
