Key information

Rockstar Games has announced that Grand Theft Auto VI will feature unprecedented levels of interactivity and freedom, allowing players to steal virtually any item they encounter. Scheduled for release on November 19, 2026, the title is positioned as the most immersive evolution of the series to date.

Rob Nelson, head of Rockstar North, explained that the game world of Leonida reacts dynamically to player actions. Unlike previous entries where large-scale heists were restricted to specific story missions, players can now engage in spontaneous robberies at various locations, such as retail stores, banks, or loan offices, to acquire goods like headphones.

Money serves as an essential component of the gameplay loop in this installment. Players may need to accumulate specific amounts of currency to progress through the adventure, with objectives discoverable through exploration rather than mission prompts. For instance, protagonists might target a police vehicle depot to secure a specific car requested by a character.

Grand Theft Auto VI is slated for launch on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. While the developer has highlighted the variety of events in Vice City, they noted that the world will not evolve as drastically as the historical progression seen in Red Dead Redemption 2. Rockstar has not yet announced a version for PC.
