Key information
European age rating board PEGI accidentally published a classification page for Grand Theft Auto 6, assigning it a PEGI 18 rating before quickly removing the listing from their website. Before the page was deleted, players captured descriptions revealing content such as intense graphic violence, strong sexual themes, and illegal drug use.
Regarding violence, the rating mentioned realistic blood, along with detailed decapitations and dismemberments from weapons causing high damage. This marks a notable change from previous titles, which generally featured only blood pools and bullet holes, although older 3D series entries had contained similar features.
Drug consumption is described as frequent and prominent, allowing characters like Jason or Lucia to use substances directly from the inventory, such as snorting carried cocaine. Sexual content includes nudity, sexual relations, occasional fetish scenes, and club interactions where players can touch dancers during private dances.
PEGI also indicated that domestic animals can be harmed, though less graphically than humans. It remains uncertain whether these descriptions accurately reflect the final game or contain errors, requiring players to await official confirmation from Rockstar.
