Grand Theft Auto 6 fans are speculating that protagonist Jason might be the series' first outwardly neurodivergent lead following recent comments from a Rockstar Games writer.

In an interview with Love magazine, longtime writer Rupert Humphries discussed the development of Jason and Lucia's personalities, noting that Jason is "wired differently." Humphries explained that Jason turns to drug trafficking and bank robbery partly due to his material circumstances, but also because players can decide if it is a choice he makes due to being wired differently.

Following these remarks, fans pointed to footage from the August extended gameplay reveal. Observations included Jason missing social cues, such as a botched handshake, avoiding eye contact, and showing anxiety before meeting a friend while expressing more comfort with a gun.

While fans speculate that these behaviors indicate neurodivergent traits like social fatigue and masking, others suggest he may simply be a quiet, reserved, and disciplined ex-military character.

With the game less than 45 days from release, Rockstar is ramping up its marketing campaign. Plans include murals and advertisements in cities like New York and Miami, alongside a one-night-only partnership where the Miami Heat will rebrand as the Vice City Heat to play against the Bucks on a themed court in Miami on November 18.
