Key information
Rockstar Games has officially confirmed the platforms for the upcoming Grand Theft Auto VI. According to the developer's official website and digital storefront listings, the title is currently slated for release on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
The developer has not announced any versions of the game for PlayStation 4 or Xbox One. Consequently, players currently utilizing hardware from the previous generation do not have confirmed options for accessing the new title in Vice City.
The exclusion of older consoles stems from significant hardware limitations. Rockstar Games designed the title as a large-scale open world featuring complex traffic, numerous characters, and simultaneous activities that exceed the processing capabilities of hardware released over a decade ago.
Furthermore, the current generation consoles utilize faster SSD technology. This hardware advancement is essential for managing the rapid data loading required to render the expansive environments as players traverse the game world.
