Key information
Polyphony Digital has initiated the rollout of the Spec IV update for Gran Turismo 7, scheduled for release on October 15 at 8:00 peninsular time. Due to the significant volume of content, the developer is splitting the update into two distinct phases, with the second half arriving in December.
The update introduces the Sportsland Sugo circuit, a track located in Murata, Miyagi, which is making its debut in the franchise. Originally opened in 1975 and owned by Yamaha Motor Company, the venue is recognized for its notable elevation changes and history of hosting various racing series, including Superbikes and Formula Nippon.
Players receive six new vehicles, such as the Honda Civic Si Group A version ’87 and the Honda Step WGN Spada Premium Line ’23. Additional features include enhanced car visualization details, a new introductory sequence, six World Circuits events, a Vintage section for classic cars, and a custom ordering system for used and legendary vehicles. Furthermore, the game introduces an Experience mode featuring manufacturer-specific driving challenges and an expanded collector level.
The remaining Spec IV content, slated for December, will feature the return of the Autumn Ring circuit, six additional cars, and new modes including Family, Random Races, and online drift trials. In anticipation of the franchise's 30th anniversary, Sony also announced a limited edition DualSense controller available for pre-order starting October 22.
