Key information
Google has officially unveiled the Fitbit Edge, a new smartband featuring a 1.34-inch OLED screen and a unique swappable battery design. This device, which was absent from the Pixel 11 launch event, aims to provide a lightweight wearable experience with a seven-day battery life.
The hardware is constructed from aluminum and weighs 17.7 grams with an 11.5 mm thickness. It is available in four colors matching the Pixel 11 Pro series: black, silver, green, and pink. Users can choose from various strap materials, including silicone, metal, magnetic, and woven nylon.
Running on a lightweight RTOS rather than Google Watch software, the device supports heart rate, ECG, and sleep tracking. It includes built-in GPS, which is claimed to be 40% more accurate than the Fitbit Charge 6, and supports over 50 exercise modes with automatic recognition for 100 activities.
The Fitbit Edge integrates Google Gemini for health analysis through the Health Guardian feature, which monitors long-term data like insulin resistance and provides alerts for irregular heart rhythms. The device is priced at US$ 179.99, with a Stephen Curry special edition available for US$ 219.99. Pre-orders have started in the United States, though details regarding a release in Taiwan remain unknown.
