Key information
BruteForce's cat Metroidvania puzzle platformer "GLIDE" was playable at the Indie game event OSAKA INDIE GAMES SUMMIT 2026, held on October 3 and 4, 2026, at Congres Square Grand Front Osaka. The title was previously highlighted by Shuhei Yoshida at BIC 2026 in Busan, South Korea, in August 2026, where he described it as being both cute and difficult.
The game follows a cat exploring a strange space, guided by its instinct to climb higher. A defining feature is the complete absence of text, dialogue, tutorials, and explanations. Players rely entirely on visual observation to figure out mechanics and controls, which results in the Steam store page humorously listing support for 103 languages.
Inspired by Metroid and The Legend of Zelda, nearly every room contains puzzles, switches, and circuits. Gameplay emphasizes player knowledge and environmental observation over mere ability progression. Reviewing the demo, the author noted that despite harsh spikes, tight jump timings, and laser-filled rooms that offer no guidance, the responsive pacing and charming pixel art make players want to try again.
"GLIDE" features items requiring backtracking to previous areas alongside new abilities. A playable demo is available on Steam and itch.io, with an early access release planned on Steam.
