Key information

Embark Studios, the Swedish developer founded by former DICE boss Patrick Söderlund under Nexon, has signed an agreement with Hollywood production company Chernin Entertainment. The partnership will adapt the studio's two major multiplayer franchises, The Finals and ARC Raiders, into film and television projects for both the big and small screens.

The Finals has accumulated 30 million players over three years, while ARC Raiders has recorded 16 million copies sold. Because both titles are primarily multiplayer experiences with very thin narrative backdrops, the adaptations will offer writers substantial freedom to create original protagonists and comprehensive story arcs.

Chernin Entertainment, led by Peter Chernin and also known as North Road, brings extensive genre film experience to the projects, having previously worked on Oblivion and the rebooted Planet of the Apes trilogy. Currently, both the film and television adaptations remain in an embryonic state, with no specific directors, distributors, or cast members attached.
