Key information
Developer historia Inc. has announced that the free-to-play survival action racing game Faaast Penguin will introduce a new world titled FPX: Badlands on October 15. A new promotional video has been released alongside this announcement.
The game features chaotic races where up to 40 penguins compete to reach the finish line first by bumping into opponents and utilizing shortcuts. The new Badlands environment is set in a town called Sand Bands, where water and sardine cans are scarce resources. Racers compete in dangerous, no-holds-barred events to secure these supplies while avoiding hazards like explosive oil barrels triggered by seagulls.
Players can perform stunts in the air to increase their speed, a mechanic familiar to those who played FPX: Snowboarding. Performing more stunts raises the player's Run Rank, which in turn boosts their base speed, with X being the highest achievable rank.
The update will also include new costumes inspired by the FPX: Badlands setting. Faaast Penguin is available on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store. Online play does not require a subscription to Nintendo Switch Online or PlayStation Plus.
