Fortnite has quietly replaced an in-game track artwork after players noticed a Google Gemini AI watermark embedded in the original image.

The track Meow by Ironmouse, Sleeping Forest, and HalaCG was added to Fortnite last month, featuring the Gemini watermark in the bottom-right corner. The discovery gained wider attention on Reddit and social media last weekend, prompting Epic Games to replace the artwork with an alternative, watermark-free version on Monday.

Analysis shows that the Gemini branding was already present on the original track art incorporated by Epic Games, appearing on Spotify as well, meaning the watermark originated with the track's creators rather than Epic Games itself.

AI-generated assets are a sensitive subject among Fortnite fans, who previously pointed out questionable examples like a poster featuring a character with nine fingers. While Epic Games has experimented with AI during the conceptual phase for characters and locations, the company has avoided confirming specific in-game graphics as AI-generated, and this recent swap suggests it prefers to avoid displaying obvious AI markers like the Gemini watermark.
