Key information
Former Pittsburgh Steelers coach Mike Tomlin launched a new YouTube channel earlier this week, surprising football fans by revealing a massive Minecraft city that took him 12 years to build.
Tomlin explained that his journey with Mojang's sandbox game began around 12 or 13 years ago when his children were in middle school and obsessed with the title. Drawn in by architecture and a desire to spend time with his family, he utilized Creative Mode because he lacked the stick control for Survival mode. While his children eventually moved on to high school and college, Tomlin continued building.
His virtual city includes intricate locations, such as a detailed hotel featuring a fully fleshed-out interior with a lobby, ballroom, pool, and labeled rooms. He also recreated off-campus housing that he observed after dropping his son Dino off at college, drawing inspiration from real-world buildings he encountered.
The former coach stepped down from the Steelers in January 2026, and his new content has generated significant online buzz. Tomlin signed off by teasing future videos that will take a closer look at his city and showcase additional interesting creations.
