Key information
Ghost Camp and Thomas Mackinnon have released a new localisation update for their social deduction party game, Forest of Deceit. Narrated by Sylvester McCoy, the title supports four to eight players locally or online via screen share, utilizing mobile web browsers for controls.
The gameplay revolves around conversation as players attempt to identify whether group members are Innocents gathering resources for a shelter against an approaching storm or Traitors trying to sabotage efforts. Avoiding misunderstandings due to language barriers was a priority for accurate communication during deception.
To improve accessibility for diverse groups of friends and families, the update allows players to customize their localisation at a granular level, enabling specific individual controllers to use different languages while the main game runs in English.
The localisation update is available now for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Windows PC, supporting Xbox Play Anywhere. The developers confirmed that no generative AI was used in creating the game or its assets.
