Key information

During the New York Comic Con 2026 panel, developers announced that performer Marisha Ray will portray a new iteration of the iconic summon, Polydroid Shiva, in Final Fantasy VII Revelation. This version of the character appears to function as a non-player character rather than a traditional summon.

Footage showcased at the event depicts Polydroid Shiva interacting with Vincent Valentine, voiced by Matt Mercer. In the scene, she tasks Vincent with participating in a snowboarding minigame, expressing frustration toward him regarding her current state. The developers confirmed this interaction takes place at a snowboarding arena.

Matt Mercer noted that the casting was independent of his involvement, as the development team was initially unaware of his personal relationship with Ray. The panel also highlighted the extensive production process for the game, with voice actor Cody Christian estimating he spent approximately 800 hours in the recording booth to refine his performance as Cloud.

Final Fantasy VII Revelation is scheduled for release on April 8, 2027. According to director Naoki Hamaguchi, completionists should expect a playtime exceeding 100 hours.
