Key information

Square Enix announced at New York Comic Con that Marisha Ray is joining the cast of Final Fantasy 7 Revelation. She will voice a new iteration of the iconic summon Shiva, specifically the Polydroid Shiva, for the third entry in the remake trilogy. Ray joins other Critical Role cast members, including Matt Mercer as Vincent Valentine and Travis Willingham as Sephiroth.

A preview clip shared on Instagram confirms that Polydroid Shiva is a digitized version of the character rather than a standard combat summon. This version of the character manages the Gold Saucer's snowboarding mini-game, which is officially confirmed to return as a playable feature from the 1997 original title.

The panel also highlighted the emotional conclusion of the trilogy's development. Voice actors Briana White and Britt Baron, who portray Aerith and Tifa, expressed that finishing their roles was a deeply moving experience, with Baron describing her work as the role of a lifetime.

Square Enix continues to deviate from the original game's narrative, though the studio remains silent regarding specific plot twists. Players can expect the final installment of the trilogy, Final Fantasy 7 Revelation, to launch on April 8, 2027.
