Key information
Final Fantasy 7 Revelation is set to receive two story-driven downloadable content episodes, scheduled for release in the winter of 2027 and the spring of 2028. Director Naoki Hamaguchi confirmed that the first episode will feature Sephiroth as the lead, while the second will center on Vincent and The Turks.
According to Hamaguchi, speaking in interviews with RPG Site and DualShockers, the greenlight for the expansions came recently following strong feedback from fans and media after the game was unveiled at Summer Game Fest. The decision means the DLC packs were not part of the initial plan.
Neither of the DLC episodes is currently in active development, as the team remains fully concentrated on completing the main game. Final Fantasy 7 Revelation launches for the Nintendo Switch 2 on April 8, 2027, concluding the remake trilogy.
Hamaguchi emphasized that the base game will tell the complete story independently, and players will not need the episodes to experience the full narrative. Instead, the upcoming additions are designed to offer further depth to Sephiroth and Vincent without altering the trilogy's conclusion.
