Key information

Final Fantasy 7 Revelation is set to receive two story-based downloadable content episodes following its release on Nintendo Switch 2. Director Naoki Hamaguchi revealed that the first DLC will star Sephiroth, while the second will focus on Vincent and The Turks, with expected launches in the winter of 2027 and the spring of 2028 respectively.

Speaking to RPG Site, Hamaguchi explained that these expansions were not part of the original plan but were greenlit recently in response to fan and media feedback following the game's reveal at Summer Game Fest. Neither DLC is currently in development, as the team's full focus remains on completing the main title.

The base game, which launches for Nintendo Switch 2 on April 8, 2027, will tell the complete story of the trilogy's conclusion on its own. Hamaguchi emphasized in an interview with DualShockers that players do not need to purchase the episodes to experience the full narrative, as the DLCs are intended to provide deeper character insight into Vincent and Sephiroth rather than alter the ending.
