Key information
Director Naoki Hamaguchi has confirmed that Final Fantasy 7 Revelation will feature a more achievable Platinum trophy compared to its predecessor, Rebirth.
While only roughly 2.6 percent of players unlocked the Platinum in Rebirth, the development team now expects around 20 percent of players, or potentially more, to achieve it in Revelation.
Hamaguchi explained that Rebirth featured an enormous amount of content designed to push players toward perfection, and the studio did not foresee how demanding the trophy hunt would be. Combat director Teruki Endo also shared similar regrets after seeing fan reactions.
For the upcoming sequel, the team aims to make combat enjoyable rather than strictly challenging, drawing lessons from Rebirth. Specific requirements for the trophy changes have not yet been detailed.
Final Fantasy 7 Revelation is scheduled to launch on April 8, 2027, for Nintendo Switch 2, PC, PS5, and Xbox Series, following an interview given to Anime News Network.
