Key information
Final Fantasy 7 Revelation is set to receive two story-based downloadable content episodes following extensive fan requests. The first episode will center on Sephiroth, while the second will focus on Vincent and The Turks.
Director Naoki Hamaguchi explained in interviews with RPG Site and DualShockers that the greenlight for these expansions came recently following questions from media and fans after the game's presentation at Summer Game Fest. The decision was not part of the original plan.
The main game is scheduled for release on Nintendo Switch 2 on April 8, 2027, concluding the remake trilogy. Neither DLC is currently in development as the team focuses on completing the base game.
The planned release windows are the winter of 2027 for the first episode and the spring of 2028 for the second. Hamaguchi noted that the bass game will deliver the complete story independently, and the DLC additions are designed to offer more character depth rather than altering the trilogy's conclusion.
