Production on The Batman Part II has been temporarily halted because director Matt Reeves had to step away from the project for family and personal reasons. Warner Bros. and DC Studios paused the filming process in London to accommodate the director.
DC Studios expressed support for Reeves and stated that they look forward to resuming work as soon as possible once he returns. International press reports indicate it remains too early to determine whether this interruption will cause any delays to the scheduled theatrical release.
The theatrical release date for the film remains scheduled for February 18, 2028. The sequel features the return of Robert Pattinson as Batman, alongside Colin Farrell as Penguin and Andy Serkis as Alfred.
In addition to the returning cast members, the upcoming film will feature new additions to the ensemble, including Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan, Brian Tyree Henry, Jayme Lawson, and Charles Dance.
