Key information
Actor Charlie Cox, known for his work in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, has officially announced his involvement in a new, untitled video game project currently in development at Sega. The actor revealed this upcoming collaboration during an appearance at New York Comic Con on Thursday.
The production process for this new title has already encountered a notable hurdle regarding the character's vocal requirements. Cox noted that the development team initially expected him to utilize an American accent, unaware that he is English. Consequently, the actor has spent approximately 40 hours in the recording booth adjusting his performance to meet the studio's specific expectations.
This commitment represents a significant increase in workload compared to his previous gaming project. While his contribution to Expedition 33 involved roughly four to eight hours of recording time, the 40-hour duration for the Sega project suggests that Cox will occupy a much more central role in the narrative of this unannounced game.
Despite his recent success and a nomination for Best Performance at The Game Awards for his role as Gustave, Cox has expressed humility regarding his contributions to the industry. He previously credited motion-capture actor Maxence Cazorla for the success of his prior performance, suggesting that his own voice work was only a partial component of the character's overall portrayal.
