Key information
Following Paramount completing its acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery, former Activision CEO Bobby Kotick is taking a seat on the board of directors for David Ellison's newly named Skydance entity.
An SEC filing alongside confirmation from The Hollywood Reporter revealed this board appointment, alongside philanthropist Laurene Powell Jobs and former UK Prime Minister Tony Blair serving as an advisor.
David Ellison praised the new board members, highlighting Kotick's three decades of guiding a major entertainment enterprise through continuous expansion and strategic financial management.
The newly formed 13-person board incorporates multiple prominent industry veterans, including Sherry Lansing, Ynon Kreiz, and Gerry Cardinale, among others.
Kotick spent 32 years overseeing Activision's rise into a massive gaming publisher amid various controversies, maintaining later that selling to Microsoft was the correct choice.
