Key information
Pixelity has unveiled EVANGELION: Δ CROSS REFLECTIONS, an upcoming XR project that combines mecha action with social situations within Hideaki Anno's universe. A recently released trailer highlights various situations allowing players to experience life as an EVA pilot or a citizen of Tokyo-3, featuring NERV facilities, battles against Angels, and daily interactions.
Rather than controlling established characters like Shinji, Asuka, or Rei, the story places the player in the role of a new NERV recruit aspiring to become an EVA pilot. The narrative intersects with familiar events and original characters while taking a different path, with Pixelity planning the project as a trilogystory spanning the 26 chapters of the original anime.
Cross Reflections relies on virtual and mixed reality, supporting hand-tracking interaction without necessarily depending on traditional controllers. The game remains in development, and the recent trailer is not a definitive technical demonstration.
While Pixelity initially aimed for a 2026 release, the launch window was shifted to 2027 in August to allow more time for quality improvements. A concrete release date and official compatible devices have not been announced yet.
