Central Japan Railway Company announced an exclusive collaborative event bringing a special Evangelion experience to Tokaido Shinkansen trains for a limited time.
The project centers on an original audio drama starring voice actors Kotono Mitsuishi as Misato and Yuriko Yamaguchi as Ritsuko, following the NERV personnel inspecting the Kansai region for vacation destinations for the five main pilots.
To hear the broadcast, participants need a registered JR Central account, a mobile device with location and speed tracking capabilities, and must physically ride an Osaka-bound train.
Playback unlocks once the vehicle departs Shin-Yokohama station and attains the required velocity, and upon reaching Osaka, listeners can apply for a special crossover keychain.
The campaign operates alongside the All of Evangelion 30th Anniversary Exhibition in Osaka, while promotional posters will appear near the Tokyo Station Nihombashi Entrance from December 9, 2026, to January 7, 2027, with the main train event spanning from October 18, 2026, through January 31, 2027.
