Key information
Battlestate Games released update 1.2.0.0 for the extraction shooter Escape from Tarkov on October 6, 2026. The installation process was estimated to take between 5 and 7 hours, during which the game was unavailable.
The latest patch brings extensive adjustments to the PvE mode, highlighted by a comprehensive rework of PMC bots. These computer-controlled opponents now feature modified behaviors, including updated faction conflicts and map movement patterns, alongside level-appropriate gear loadouts.
Furthermore, the update introduces a prestige system to the PvE mode. Previously exclusive to PvP, prestige allows players who meet specific criteria to reset their progress and restart from the beginning, excluding certain elements, in exchange for newly added exclusive rewards.
Additional improvements accompanying the release include reductions in lag frequency, quality-of-life enhancements, and map adjustments such as custom extraction routes and increased loot on Interchange. Players can consult the official patch notes for a complete overview of all changes.
