Key information

Team17 has officially announced the development of The Escapists 3, marking the return of the prison-break strategy franchise. This upcoming installment aims to be the largest and most comprehensive entry in the series to date, featuring a significant shift to 3D aesthetics.

The game will challenge players to escape from five distinct prisons by crafting, sneaking, fighting, and improvising. Players can utilize over 120 new weapons, monitor guard patrol rotations, and exploit new systems. If initial plans fail, users must adapt using available tools to execute a backup plan.

The Escapists 3 introduces a new experience point system, allowing players to unlock skills and specialize their characters. The game supports solo play, local split-screen for up to two players, and online multiplayer for up to four participants.

While no specific release date is set, Team17 confirmed the title is scheduled for 2027 on PC, PS5, Xbox Series, and Nintendo Switch 2. The previous two games in the series currently hold a 90% positive rating on Steam.
