Key information
A new game titled Permaban has recently been released, allowing players to experience the role of an internet forum moderator with the power to ban users. The game launched just a few weeks ago and is priced at 5,19 euros, with its creators warning that all texts are entirely in English featuring slang from the period.
Set in the past during the year 2007, Permaban places the player in control of a forum moderator at a dying website without receiving any pay. Players must handle various community issues, including users threatening to leak personal information, others not taking things seriously, and individuals attempting to ruin the moderation work.
Maintaining order requires a careful balance, as being too strict damages the forum's remaining reputation, whereas being too lenient leads to scams, fights, and total chaos. Additionally, players face pressures from fellow moderators asking for favors, administrators rewriting rules based on player actions with the risk of firing the moderator, and the constant danger of opening malicious files by mistake.
