Key information
Grand Theft Auto VI is scheduled for release on November 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, developed and published by Rockstar Games. The open-world action-adventure game arrives more than thirteen years after Grand Theft Auto V, with Rockstar confirming no official PC version has been announced so far.
According to narrative head Rupert Humphries in an interview with Game Informer, the campaign will guide players through various locations in the state of Leónida rather than just Vice City. However, the developer admitted that the main story will not have enough time to show players every corner of the map, leaving it to curious players to discover all its secrets, environments, and cultures independently.
Rockstar has emphasized that Grand Theft Auto VI features the largest map they have designed to date, offering increased detail, interiors, and outdoor activities. Similar to elements seen in Red Dead Redemption 2, many points of interest will be discovered spontaneously without being explicitly indicated by map markers or icons, while the map itself will remain partially hidden until explored.
