Key information
Electronic Arts has detailed the primary changes for Season 5 of Battlefield 6, which marks the start of the game's second year of post-launch support ahead of its first anniversary in October. Published on October 3, 2026, the update introduces adjustments to health regeneration, vehicle balancing, weapon attachments, and the REDSEC battle royale mode.
Season 5 adjusts health regeneration and vehicle damage to increase the importance of infantry positioning during combat. The anti-aircraft system is being reformed to improve effectiveness while maintaining the need for player skill. Vehicle adjustments include reduced splash damage for the Little Bird, higher firing rates for secondary turrets, and revised missile types. Additionally, aircraft resupply pads will feature specific timers for each vehicle type to alter how frequently pilots can return to battle.
The REDSEC mode will receive match reconnection support for disconnections, a more precise skill-based matchmaking system, and landing zone recommendations for less experienced players. Armor application will speed up, tactical class bonuses will be revised, and map loot will expand to include items such as smoke launchers, defibrillators, and hardware suppression systems. Furthermore, weapon balancing will require more projectiles to eliminate armored targets.
Looking ahead, the development team outlined plans for 2027 that include further gameplay modifications for vehicles, an extensive explosives overhaul, a shooting range update, visual improvements, and new animations for the complete arsenal.
