Key information

Yokosuka City has officially opened applications for the fourth cohort of its "Yokosuka e-Sports Scholarship" program. The initiative aims to support high school students aspiring to become professional eSports athletes by providing specialized coaching and assistance with home PC environment setups.

Selected students will receive guidance on specific game titles and gain exposure to various eSports business career paths. The program requires participants to share their acquired knowledge with peers, fostering a broader improvement in the local high school eSports scene.

Eligibility is limited to first and second-year high school students residing or attending school in Yokosuka. Applicants must commit to one year of active participation in tournaments and coaching sessions. The city prioritizes titles featured in major competitions like "stage0" and the "NASEF JAPAN All-Japan High School eSports Championship."

The application window runs from October 9 to October 25, 2026. Following a document review, a second round of interviews will take place on October 30. The final selection of up to five students is scheduled for November, with coaching set to commence shortly thereafter.
