Comparable to Valyria from Game of Thrones, Delhumide was once among the most prosperous locations in Thay a thousand years ago before suffering a catastrophic fall.
The disaster struck in the year 922 DR when a faction of rebel wizards unleashed dark magic rituals that summoned demon hordes to massacre the city in a single night. This event gave rise to the Red Wizards of Thay as well as Szass Tam, the primary villain featured in Arcana Unleashed: Deadfall.
In the current timeline, Delhumide is an extremely hostile area overseen by a provincial military governor and infested with wandering demons that inflict madness and leprosy, functioning similarly to Game of Thrones' Stone Men.
Structured as a counter-espionage campaign for characters ranging from levels 11 to 20, Deadfall avoids traditional dungeon tropes by setting the adventure in a privatized region under heavy state surveillance where Szass Tam utilizes demonic energy to automate an undead army.
Exploring this territory requires players to prioritize stealth and diplomacy over direct combat to avoid drawing the wrath of the provincial military.
