Key information
Wizards of the Coast has announced Dungeons & Dragons: World of Warcraft, marking the second time in history that Azeroth has been adapted into the tabletop roleplaying game following a previous collaboration in 2003 for the 3.5e edition. The ambitious module allows players to adapt their World of Warcraft characters or create entirely new ones using 16 new species, 13 classes featuring 9 revised and inéditas subclasses, and more than 40 specializations.
The adaptation introduces gathering and production professions divided similarly to the MMORPG, offering unique tools and packages to aid dice rolls when utilizing professions at the table. Furthermore, the module includes a detailed reputation system tied to various factions such as the Alliance, Horde, Argent Dawn, Cenarion Circle, Steamwheedle Cartel, and Valdrakken Accord, though players cannot ally with opposing factions simultaneously.
Classic dungeons adapted for the TTRPG include Deadmines, Blackfathom Deeps, Scarlet Monastery, Shadowfang Keep, and Onyxia’s Lair. These locations feature level recommendations, interconnected paths, and new obstacles, while allowing parties to leave and return later with consequences that may alter the ecosystem. Monsters and beasts from the MMORPG have also received dedicated rules and stat blocks rather than simple skins.
The book is scheduled for release in 2026, with a Spanish edition planned to launch in Spain in 2027.
