Arc System Works announced that Phoenix Cyclops will arrive as the first DLC character for the team-based fighting game Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls on November 2. Producer Taketsugu Yamanaka confirmed this addition as part of the game's first-year pass.
Phoenix Cyclops, voiced by Ray Chase, features a unique combat style blending laser eye attacks with Phoenix Force abilities. Players can accumulate Phoenix Force energy, known as Sun Crystals, through laser attacks to transform into Dark Phoenix. This state offers significantly enhanced power but causes a gradual reduction in health, reflecting the destructive nature of the Phoenix Force.
The development team opted for this version of Scott Summers to provide a fresh visual and gameplay experience compared to traditional iterations. To accommodate fans of the character's history, the release includes "Classic" and "Legacy" DLC costumes. Additionally, a "Vintage" color variant will be available via a PlayStation Plus bundle.
Ahead of the November 2 launch, a discount on the Ultimate Edition is available on the PlayStation Store. PlayStation Plus members can also access a 3-hour game trial. Attendees of EVO France from October 9 to 11 will have the opportunity to play the character early.
