Key information
Denuvo took legal action by summoning Discord, Valve, and Reddit to a United States court in California to uncover the real identity of an online hacker. The individual, known as voices38, allegedly bypassed Denuvo security tools across 26 high-profile PC titles, enabling unauthorized access and pirated versions.
The legal filing targets security bypasses affecting numerous games, including Hogwarts Legacy, Stellar Blade, Doom: The Dark Ages, Pragmatic, Resident Evil Requiem, and 007: First Light. Denuvo seeks information stored on servers managed by Discord, Reddit, and Steam to establish the user's true identity.
Prior to the court summons, the three platform companies declined to provide assistance without a formal legal order. Denuvo initiated the court proceedings specifically to obtain that required documentation after previous requests were denied by the firms.
Following the initiation of the legal process, a group named DenuvOwO chose to shut down its operations. It remains unknown whether Denuvo has successfully identified the actual user behind the breaches so far.
