Wizards of the Coast has officially unveiled Magic: The Gathering | Marvel: Darkhold Destiny. This upcoming set is scheduled to launch on April 9, 2027, serving as the inaugural Universes Beyond release for that calendar year.
The expansion centers on a supernatural narrative involving the Darkhold and the Dark Dimension. Featured characters include Blade, Doctor Strange, and Scarlet Witch. Unlike prior Marvel collaborations, this release focuses on an original story, which will be supported by a new character debuting in a comic book scheduled for February 2027.
Wizards of the Coast plans to offer a variety of products, including Commander decks, Scene Boxes, and boosters. According to GamesRadar, interested players can currently place pre-orders through various tabletop retailers, such as TCGPlayer and Amazon.
This set represents a shift toward bespoke storytelling within the crossover series. While the Universes Beyond line has previously included themes like The Hobbit, it remains a subject of debate among some members of the Magic: The Gathering community.
