Key information
Paramount has officially announced a film adaptation of the video game Cyberpunk 2077. The project will be produced in collaboration with CD Projekt Red, with Lorenzo di Bonaventura, known for the Transformers series, also attached to produce.
CD Projekt Red executive Michał Nowakowski expressed enthusiasm for the partnership, noting that Paramount aligns with the developer's creative ambitions for the franchise. Associate game director Paweł Sasko also shared his excitement regarding the upcoming cinematic transition.
The production remains in its early stages, with no confirmed director, cast, or release date. This announcement follows Paramount's recent corporate developments, including its combination with Warner Bros. Discovery to form a new entity under the Skydance name.
While the film is in development, CD Projekt Red continues work on the game sequel, Cyberpunk 2. This follows the original title's recovery from a difficult 2020 launch to become a widely recognized success story.
