Key information
Epic Games has launched a new collaboration featuring Hollow Knight as part of its 2026 Halloween event. While the crossover introduces themed cosmetic items, the pricing structure has drawn criticism from fans who note that the total cost exceeds the price of the original Team Cherry games.
The collection includes the Knight as a non-playable companion, the Grub of Hallownest back bling, and the Nail pickaxe. These items can be purchased individually or as a bundle for 2000 V-Bucks, which is discounted from the 2700 V-Bucks required to buy each piece separately.
Players without existing currency must spend 22.99 euros to acquire the 2400 V-Bucks bundle needed for the full set. This expenditure surpasses the 14.79 euro cost of Hollow Knight and the 19.50 euro price of its sequel, Hollow Knight: Silksong, on Steam.
The collaboration is scheduled to remain in the Fortnite store until October 14, 2026. Despite the negative reception regarding costs, the items are purely cosmetic and provide no competitive advantages during gameplay.
