Key information
Netflix has announced The Conjuring: Unspoken, a new horror game developed by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and Supermassive Games. The title is set to launch exclusively on the Netflix Games platform on October 13, 2026. This release expands the Conjuring universe, serving as a canonical story following the events of the 2025 film Last Rites.
Players will control demonologist Francesca Noakes as she investigates paranormal occurrences involving the Cooper family in Stockbridge, Massachusetts. The narrative centers on a failed séance that unleashes a demon named Vinea and a ghost known as Florrie. The story will feature both new characters and familiar faces from the film franchise.
The gameplay utilizes a unique setup where the game runs on a television or monitor while the player's mobile device acts as a controller and investigation tool. Players will use their phones as an electromagnetic field detector, infrared camera, and a spiritual box. Consistent with Supermassive Games' style, player choices will influence the narrative and determine character survival.
The project arrives during a difficult period for Supermassive Games, which is currently undergoing restructuring and layoffs following the commercial failure of Directive 8020. Additionally, Netflix has recently reduced its investment in gaming and closed internal development studios, casting uncertainty on the future of both the developer and the platform's gaming initiatives.
