Developer Easy Fox is preparing for the January 2027 launch of its title, Enseñar a conducir a mi hermana, on Steam. To promote the project, the team released a free demo utilizing artificial intelligence, which has unexpectedly resulted in significant financial strain for the studio.
The demo integrates Google Gemini to process voice commands, with ChatGPT serving as a backup system. As the player count surpassed 430 users, the operational costs for these AI services surged, forcing the developers to secure a bank loan to keep the demo accessible.
Easy Fox reports daily expenses exceeding 1,000 dollars for AI services. The studio noted that while ChatGPT Realtime Mini 2.1 was tested, it produced delayed responses and errors. They are currently exploring alternative models to improve performance, including options for players in Russia facing access restrictions.
For the final release, the studio intends to factor AI costs into the purchase price rather than charging per token. Future plans include supporting local AI models for users with compatible hardware to reduce reliance on external services.
