Paradox Interactive has officially revealed Cities: Skylines - Expanded Edition, a port of the 2015 city-builder developed by Tantalus Media for the Nintendo Switch 2. This announcement arrives alongside ongoing uncertainty regarding the release status of console versions for the sequel, Cities: Skylines 2.

The new edition is priced at $49 and includes 10 expansions, an expanded 25-tile buildable area, and a map editor. It also introduces keyboard and mouse support, alongside improved precision placement and environmental controls. Users can select between a 30fps visual mode or a 60fps performance mode.

The title launches on October 28, with a 70% discount available for owners of the original Switch version. Additionally, new content creator packs will arrive for PC, PS4, and Xbox One on the same date.

While the original game continues to receive support, the console ports for Cities: Skylines 2 have faced repeated delays since their original October 2023 target. Developers cited failure to meet stability and performance goals, and Iceflake Studios assumed control of the porting process in November 2025.
