Key information

Pawel Sasko, the mission director for Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty, has stated that the current success of the game does not erase the history of its problematic original launch. Despite the title now being widely acclaimed and commercially successful, the studio recognizes that the 2020 release remains a significant event.

Sasko described the initial release as a permanent scar for the development team. He explicitly noted that he would not want to frame the studio's history as if the expansion simply wiped away the difficulties faced during the game's debut.

The Phantom Liberty expansion has reached over 15 million copies sold. Sasko expressed gratitude for these figures while reflecting on the lessons learned regarding leadership, decision-making, and the challenges inherent in the development process over the past three years.

Cyberpunk 2077 is currently available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch 2. The version for the Nintendo console has been described as an exemplary conversion of the action role-playing game.
