Key information
Activision has confirmed that the extraction-based DMZ mode for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 will be available for early access. Players can begin playing this mode on Tuesday, October 20, which precedes the full game launch by three days.
The DMZ mode is characterized as an open-world extraction shooter. Participants engage with both AI combatants and human players while scavenging for loot, crafting equipment, and fulfilling specific objectives. Successfully exiting the map requires reaching a designated exfil point to secure collected rewards.
This iteration of DMZ is described as a significant improvement over the previous version that debuted as a free-to-play beta within Warzone in 2022. The updated mode introduces a new social space for players to utilize.
Early access to DMZ and the campaign, which begins on October 16, is granted to those who preorder any edition of the game. This benefit is available across all platforms, including PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Switch 2.
