Key information

Jason Jones, a co-founder of Bungie, and Margaret Stohl, who served as Destiny 2 narrative director, have established a fresh transmedia venture named Stone Kite. Based in Los Angeles, this world-building enterprise is led by Stohl as chief executive officer.

The Los Angeles company is unveiling its initial intellectual property titled One Zero One. Derived from an original manuscript written by Jones, the project focuses on an impending global conflict pitting humanity against a rebellious force of artificial intelligence-powered robotic combatants.

Stohl explained that the company aims to dismantle traditional entertainment silos by uniting global creators from multiple disciplines from day one, rather than adapting outward from a single medium. Jones noted that Stohl was the first person to believe in his writing and help develop it.

One Zero One will debut as a four-part comic series with issues released online for free beginning in early 2027, with further media projects to follow. The enterprise collaborates with over 250 creators across entertainment, alongside leadership team members including Stephen Wacker, Lewis Peterson, Matt Johnson, and Jeanine Schaefer.
