Key information
Professional Tekken 8 player SuperBrine went viral after achieving the God of Destruction rank using Alisa while completely blindfolded with a sleep mask. Streaming his entire run live on Twitch across seven separate broadcasts starting in June 2026, he completed the challenge by reaching one of the game’s top ranks from Beginner. The feat sparked debate within the fighting game community concerning the game's difficulty and character balance.
SuperBrine confirmed that cheating was impossible as he streamed the entire run live and used a sleep mask made of thick material with dense cushions. He explained that his primary motivation was to tackle a seemingly impossible challenge to boost his visibility as a professional player, emphasizing that the undertaking was not intended as a critique of Tekken 8's design.
To achieve the rank without sight, SuperBrine relied on foundational fighting game experience, knowledge of player habits across different ranks, and Tekken 8's sound cues to determine hits, blocks, counter hits, and wall splats. He also faced physical and mental tolls, noting that keeping his eyes closed for so long caused them to burn and required extreme patience and frequent breaks.
