Key information
Arc System Works has officially announced that the 2D fighting game BlazBlue Central Fiction is coming to PlayStation 5 as a native version. This release marks a new milestone for the title, which originally debuted in 2015 across arcades, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and PC, followed by a 2019 release on Switch.
The upcoming update introduces several technical and accessibility improvements. Players can expect the implementation of rollback netcode, cross-play functionality with the Steam version, and new features for the training mode. Additionally, the game will receive support for four new languages, including Spanish.
Beyond the platform expansion, the developer confirmed that the playable character Trinity Glassfille, an alchemist and key narrative figure, is joining the roster. Arc System Works clarified that the release schedule for Trinity Glassfille will be distinct from the PlayStation 5 launch and the language update.
While visual changes are not expected to be significant, the game remains highly regarded for its extensive content and narrative conclusion. Previous assessments highlighted the title as a satisfying finale for the series' protagonists, offering deep combat systems and a wealth of modes.
