Key information
Xreal has opened pre-orders for the Aura, built in partnership with Google, starting at $1,279 for a model featuring 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. A second configuration offering 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage is priced at $1,499. The device weighs around 100 grams and uses a tethered compute puck housing its Qualcomm Snapdragon Reality Elite chip and battery.
The Xreal Aura features transparent lenses with a 70-degree diagonal field of view and runs Android XR, contrasting with Meta's VR Glasses which utilize passthrough vision, eye-tracking, and Horizon OS. For input, the Xreal Aura relies on hand-tracking and a touchpad on the compute puck rather than eye-tracking.
Pre-orders are currently limited to individuals who previously placed a reservation, with the initial 2,000 Founder’s Edition units slated to ship this year. General public orders will open in the coming weeks, launching initially in the US, Canada, Japan, and South Korea before expanding to other regions in 2027.
